About Us

Incorporated in Bangalore in January, 2007, Planet Scuba India is India’s first Inland Scuba Diving Training Institute. Diving the world over is a popular adventure sport, but in India, this is the first attempt to popularize it in the metros. Instead of going to beaches or far away diving locales and being stuck in a classroom for lessons, Planet Scuba India offers the theory lessons in the comfort of classrooms and then train in a pool to get familiarized before heading to the ocean. The lack of availability of equipment is one of the factors limiting diving from spreading in India. To fill the void Planet Scuba India also offers scuba equipment of international standard for sale at a competitive pricing.

Planet Scuba India was founded to help scuba enthusiasts to discover the underwater world in a safe and educational manner. Planet Scuba India is owned and run by Madhava Reddy a former journalist with over 16 years of experience with The Economic Times, Financial Express, Observer and Reuters. He has also been a diving enthusiast for 12 years. Planet Scuba India brings the joys of diving to your doorstep in Bangalore.

India’s first and only 5 Star PADI Instructor Development Center, Planet Scuba India encompasses the best diving skills and knowledge, a deeper understanding of the importance of the underwater world to our ecosystem and networking with people who share similar interests.

As part of its CSR, Planet Scuba is also part of Project AWARE, a marine life conservation initiative from PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors), which is a globally-recognized certifying body. People who complete the diving course from Planet Scuba get certified by PADI. One of the main goals of Planet Scuba is to spread awareness about the marine ecosystem through its scuba diving courses.

Planet Scuba is planning to expand its spectrum of operations to all the major metropolitan cities of India and open its own Instructor Development Centre, a first in the country.

Good to meet you and sorry for the late reply. We’ve been swamped with classes. To become a diver takes less than a week, accrately it takes about 5 days part time. We have something called All Day Diving. What this means is you choose your learning times according to your schedule. As for the cost it comes up to about 20k Rupees. For more details why not visit us at http://www.planetscubaindia.com or just give us a call. We will be glad to answer any more queries that you have. Thanks again for stopping by.

  8. Hi,
I did a beginner open water course a couple of years ago on a live-aboard in Phuket and obtained PADI certification. However, I haven’t done any diving after that. I want to resume diving. Do I need to be re-certified through a regular course or is there a refresher?

  9. I am interested to learn Scuba diving. But i dont know swimming. Will it helps me?

    • Hi Akash,

If you are asking will scuba diving help you learn swimming then the answer is no. But, you don’t have to worry about that as we can arrange for you to learn swimming and then scuba diving if you are interested. The good news is you don’t have to be a fantastic swimmer to take up scuba diving. Hope this has cleared your doubts, if it doesn’t please do not hesitate to give us a call and find out more details.

  10. Hey there,
I need to do a advanced open water course, preferably with dives at netrani. What does it cost with your center? Do you have any other dive sites where you do the advanced course?
I have dived at suzie’s wreck around grand island for my open water course.
btw do you also offer technical diving courses?
    regards!
    shag

    • Yes, we can package this for you Shag!!! Give us a call at 080-41573939 and talk to Ms SHirley or Ms Rashmi and we can organise this for you. Grande Island is nothing compared to Netrani, as you may well know.
